Product safety recall for Yoto Mini (2021 – 2023 edition) Australian Customers Only

We contacted you in April of this year having identified a safety issue affecting Yoto Mini devices sold between November 2021 and November 2023. These affected models have serial numbers commencing 1FE-8FE and contain a lithium pouch battery which may overheat and catch fire when the device is being charged.

At the time, you were offered a free Yoto Mini Smart Cable to remediate the issue. We also implemented an automatic software update across all Yoto Minis.

In Australia, the regulator, ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission), was notified and has requested that further action be taken. Therefore Yoto is issuing consumers with a Battery Replacement Kit.

The Battery Replacement Kit is available free of charge and contains a replacement battery from a new supplier, required tools and detailed instructions on how to change the battery in your Yoto Mini device. Please do not use your Yoto Mini until you have received your Battery Replacement Kit and followed all the instructions, even if you have a Smart Cable. Do not reuse the old battery or keep it as a spare.

To order your Battery Replacement Kit, you will need the discount code in the email that your Yoto Mini is registered to and follow these steps:

  1. Add Battery Replacement Kit ONLY to basket (remove any other items in basket)
  2. Log in before checkout, using the email address associated with your Yoto Mini
  3. Checkout, using the code found in your email for 100% discount and free shipping
